DigiTimes’s Yenting Chen and Steve Shen this morning report that anonymous sources in the electronics supply chain claim Apple’s (AAPL) next iPad model will be out in three to four months from now, based on initial shipments of parts.
The new iPad unit is supposed to have production of 9.5 million to 9.8 million units in the first quarter, versus 14 million to 15 million for the existing iPad 2, but those numbers will reverse themselves in Q2 when the iPad 2 rapidly ramps down.
The article offers no details on the particulars of this iPad.
Apple shares this morning are down $1.59, or 0.4%, at $392.03.
