There's never a dull week on Wall Street. Let's go over some of the news that will shape the week to come.
Monday
The new trading week kicks off with FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq: FCEL ) posting quarterly results. Analysts see the maker of fuel cell power plants posting a narrower deficit.
Tuesday
FactSet Research Systems (NYSE: FDS ) and The Pantry (Nasdaq: PTRY ) check in on Tuesday.
FactSet arms investors with financial and economic information. The Pantry runs a chain of convenience stores. The two companies may have little in common, but Wall Street sees both companies growing their bottom line by roughly 10%.
Wednesday
VeriFone Systems (NYSE: PAY ) rings up its latest financials on Wednesday. True to its ticker symbol, VeriFone provides electronic payment solutions. VeriFone is expected to crank out a quarterly profit of $0.51 a share, well ahead of the $0.40 a share it served up a year earlier.
Thursday
Consultancy giant Accenture (NYSE: ACN ) and Discover credit card parent Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS ) are two of the bigger names reporting on Thursday. The market's banking on both companies to post higher net income than they last year.
Friday
The end of the week is always a busy time at the local multiplex, but your local IMAX (Nasdaq: IMAX ) exhibitor should be particularly busy. IMAX struck a deal with Paramount to run a super-sized version of Mission Impossible -- Ghost Protocol on IMAX five days before its Dec. 21 release. Let's cue up ! the catc hy Mission Impossible theme song as we willingly fork over the IMAX premium.
Until next week, I remain,
